What is Home Infusion?

Infusion therapy is when medication is delivered through a needle or catheter into a vein. Home infusion therapy is when a patient receives this therapy outside the hospital or clinical setting. Receiving this care at home rather than a healthcare facility or other care setting is a more cost-effective option, and is referred to as "home infusion therapy".

Home Infusion Therapy Advantages

Receiving therapy at home can be an excellent choice for many people. It can be a safe and cost-effective alternative to an extended hospital stay or placement in a rehabilitation facility or nursing home. It can allow patients to maintain their normal daily activities.

Patients and their family members or caregivers can learn to administer home IV antibiotics with training and support from the pharmacist at RCVC as well as skilled home health nurses. RCVC provides in person individualized training and written material to improve your comfort and ability to successfully complete the prescribed therapy.
